Project Description: The project consisted of the excavation and disposal of 3,500 yards of contaminated material, back fill of 5,000 yards clean fill, plugging and abandonment of the Pt. Storkersen exploration well, and site restoration. A 4.5 mile ice road was constructed for site access. As Program Manager, Marsh Creek developed the project plan and budget, prepared bid documents, and obtained all necessary permits. In addition, as Construction Manager, Marsh Creek provided onsite supervision, QA/QC, and all Health & Safety functions. Marsh Creek also self performed the plugging and abandonment of the Pt. Storkersen No. 1 well. As part of an ongoing Management Training Program, a KIC shareholder served as a Field Supervisor Trainee during field activities.
Project Status: Project was completed on schedule and under budget with zero health & safety incidents.
